The Finney Family

2 of the Finney's 6 children live with them here in Rock Hill. With the other 4 children, daughter-in-law, and 2 grandbabies visiting from out of state, they grabbed the opportunity to do an outdoor session with everyone. They are a great family and I enjoyed my time with them. Here are a few from their session:

Some More of WEB's 1st Birthday Session!

Web's 1st birthday session turned out so good. I just love the fishing expedition portraits!!! I can't wait to do that scene again.

There are so many good portraits from WEB's session that I can't just pick a few favorites to post on the blog. His session might just have to be considered for a featured session! Here are a few more in addition to the 2 other fishing expedition ones I posted on Saturday.

Jennifer, you might be right....you may have to sell something! You are going to want every one of these! LOL!

WEB on his fishing expedition!

I was really excited today to get to use the fishing scene props that I had purchased. I have other sessions to proof, but I was dying to see how these turned out. So, I grabbed a couple and worked on them quickly. I just love this scene!!! It turned out so nice. WEB made it even cuter in his overalls and bare feet. I'll show more of his session later, but for now here are 2 of his fishing expedition shots...one in color and one in black & white:
If you have a little boy, you'll have to book a session and do this!! WEB loved it! He would have continued to play, but we thought we had plenty to work with.

Here we go again upgrading....

I know that our client experience survey cards that we give out with our final portraits are a little behind the times; therefore, I have set up an on-line version today. Now you can complete your client experience survey on-line by simply clicking a provided link in an e-mail, typing in your answers, and hitting the finish button. WOW! How cool is that?

All of the fishing stuff is here!

The rowboat, oars, pier/dock, pilings, and bamboo fishing rod all arrived yesterday! I had them all delivered to my home yesterday and since taking them out of the box, my little girls haven't stopped playing with them!!!! I think this will be a big hit! I can see little boys in overalls in this setup or little girls in pretty dresses as well! I can't wait to get it setup and start shooting with it! I'll post some samples as soon as I take some.

Survivor is on tonight!!

If you don't know....I'm a HUGE Survivor fan! I'd love to go on the show. The only reason I don't apply is because I could not leave my kids or my studio for that long. But, I LOVE to watch it. So, thought I would tell everyone that the season premiere is tonight! :)

New Featured Session!

I figured it was time to swap out the featured session. So, there is a new one loaded on the portfolio! My hope is that at some point we will get this changed monthly. Things have just been so busy it's gotten pushed to the back burner! The last featured session was a newborn. So, we thought we would do a maternity session this time. Jennifer is gorgeous. I'm sure you'll enjoy viewing her session.

Briana & Justin's Engagement Portraits...

I've actually known Briana for some time and absolutely love her. Justin is a sweatheart and I think they will have a long, wonderful life together!

We did some on-location & in-studio shots for their engagement portraits. They were a lot of fun to work with. Here are a few of my favorites from their session.

I just had to brag a little....

It's been an exhausting day. We went to Columbia today for my 2 boys to compete in the S.C. District Pinewood Derby Race. We left first thing this morning and just now got back.

I do have to report that they did quite well considering that there were a total of 120 cars registered at this event! My oldest son, Josh, who is 9 years old placed 2nd in his age group. My youngest son, Jake, who is 6 years old placed 3rd in his age group. We're pretty proud of them.

I do think it is funny that they are already planning what they could do different next year to increase the spead and stability of the car! :)

Here are a couple pictures....OF COURSE....I took my camera!

This first shot is of my oldest son's car winning a heat:

This 2nd picture is of my youngest son's car winning a heat:And a quick snapshot of them with their trophies:

More fishing....

I just ordered a mini pier/dock, 3 pilings, and a bamboo fishing rod. I'm planning to incorporate these into my rowboat/fishing scene, but they also could be used separately with a child simply fishing on the dock or a beach type scene as well. I can't wait to get everything I've ordered in! It will be fun to play with them and figure out the endless combinations it will create!

Gone Fishing....

well, at least that's one of the things I've been working on today! Lol! I know....it sounds strange. But, it's really exciting for me to get a new background, piece of equipment, or prop. It's something new and gives me a bunch of fresh ideas. I'm extremely pleased to announce that we will soon be offering a "Gone Fishing" scene for little boys! This morning I ordered the rowboat and also purchased some other props to complete the scene like fish netting, ducks, life preserver, fishing sign, etc. I can't wait to get everything so that I can play!

It had been a while since I had changed our splash page (the first page you see when entering our website). So, it got a well deserved facelift tonight! You'll have to check it out if you haven't already!

Daniel & Ashlyn...

I had a lot of fun with this couple. Daniel has been in several times before. But, this was Ashlyn's first time. We did several different locations along with some in-studio shots as well. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Exciting week for me...

First, on Monday I paid off my expedition!!! That is extremely exciting to me!

Second, yesterday I ordered another new backdrop!!! WAHOO! I can't wait to get it. It's called Essence and it is another abstract backdrop like my newest one, Asylum. It has blues and rust colors in it. It will look FABULOUS with jeans!! All of my backdrops are handpainted, so it will take several weeks to get it in. But, I just had to share that it's coming!!!!

Jill, thanks so much for bringing her in! Here are a few of the portraits as a sneak peak. I can't wait for you to see all of them!

Hot Mama's Sweetie Pie at 8 days old!

I laugh because many of you that follow the blog will know exactly who's baby this is when I say it's Hot Mama's! lol! If you don't remember, the pictures will refresh your memory.

London came in this week for her newborn portraits at only 8 days old! She was so tiny and precious! I was able to try out a few new ideas that I have had, but still have so many that I want to do. London's pictures turned out terrific. I can't wait for Kristen & Bobby to see them! Here are a few:

Little Brown Eyes...

First of all, I have to say....there is totally a reason for me neglecting my blog this week! It's been an insane week! Between sessions, a 6 hour seminar, football pictures, proofing sessions and my busy life on top of all that....it's been INSANE!!!! So, I'll be getting some stuff up on the blog over the course of the next few days.

Now....about those brown eyes...Although I love to shoot blue eyed little ones because of the way blue eyes reflect the light, I'm a little partial to brown eyed babes since I have brown eyes and all 4 of my children have brown eyes. :) Kelli brought her 2 little ones (5 months & 2 years old) into the studio earlier this week for a session and we were able to capture some incredible images! Kelli, I think you'll be amazed at what we got! I can't wait for you to come in and see them all. For now, here are a few:
